SYNOPSIS

35mm print! Yesterday they were businessmen. Today they're cowboys ... Tomorrow they'll be walking funny. Billy Crystal and Jack Palance ride the range as a middle-aged suburban SUV jockey and a hardened and weathered cowpoke in this Western tale of a cattle drive that becomes a journey of self-discovery for a band of City Slickers. Mitch Robbins (Crystal) is a radio station sales executive with a mid-life crisis. For his dreaded birthday, Robbins takes a two-week "vacation" cattle drive with his friends Phil (Daniel Stern) and Ed (Bruno Kirby). The three join a band of clueless urbanites herded along with the cattle by hard-bitten, authentic, almost mythic, cowboy Curly (Jack Palance). But when the completely unforeseen happens, this motley band of wannabe ranger riders must quickly learn to survive in the wild if they plan to live--and drive their cattle to town--in this witty, touching modern Western. Jack Palance won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
