Mitch Robbins (Crystal) is a radio station sales executive with a mid-life crisis. For his dreaded birthday, Robbins takes a two-week "vacation" cattle drive with his friends Phil (Daniel Stern) and Ed (Bruno Kirby). The three join a band of clueless urbanites herded along with the cattle by hard-bitten, authentic, almost mythic, cowboy Curly (Jack Palance). But when the completely unforeseen happens, this motley band of wannabe ranger riders must quickly learn to survive in the wild if they plan to live--and drive their cattle to town--in this witty, touching modern Western. Jack Palance won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
