Art House New York Cinema Week
DETAILS
The Paris Theater is proud to participate in the inaugural edition of Art House New York Cinema Week.
With over 30 participating theaters spanning New York’s boroughs, Art House Cinema Week boasts specialized programming and events, including in-person Q&As with esteemed filmmakers, career retrospectives, discounted admission to screenings, and more. The initiative celebrates cinemas as spaces where people build community—especially for those new to a neighborhood or city.
The Paris Theater will be screening its own 70mm prints of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Director's Cut) and Lawrence of Arabia, plus a screening of Jonathan Demme’s Married to the Mob (also screening as part of New York Film Critics Circle at the Paris) followed by a post-screening conversation with actor Matthew Modine and additional special guests. Special Cinema Week $10 general admission pricing for all seats at these featured screenings.
Art House New York Cinema Week runs March 20-26, 2026 as part of a citywide partnership with the NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment to rediscover New York together, one cinema at a time and is providing 5,000 free tickets funded by MOME to ensure the experience is available to all New Yorkers*. Cinema Week is an initiative of Art House New York (AHNY), a pilot regional alliance for independent film exhibition, strengthening the independent film sector through audience development, research, and strategic initiatives. *Eligible New Yorkers may attend screenings free of charge at all participating venues by presenting valid forms of identification at the box office. Visit arthouseny.org for more details.
